Car 496, currently named the John B. Gordon, was shown in a 1942 photo to be the Frank L. Butler, indicating that Georgia Power occasionally renamed the cars. Car 496 was a real boomer. It was originally built in 1929 for the Indianapolis and Southeastern as a parlor car. It was one of the fanciest and one of the last of the curved side cars to be built. In 1932 it was sold to the Nashville- Franklin Railway as their 104 and in 1941 it became Georgia Power 496. In the late 1950s the body resided in a junk yard near the present Martin Luther King MARTA station. Shown here at the Butler Street Barn.
